Facts
- The acetaminophen component in Lortab can on its own cause a fatal overdose. High doses of acetaminophen can cause liver damage, and dosages should never exceed 4000 mg a day. Acetaminophen is metabolized solely by the liver, so there is a risk of fatal overdose due to hepatotoxicity when Lortab is mixed with alcohol.

GET HELP LOCATING A DRUG TREATMENT PROGRAM
Drug addiction affects every race, age and gender. For drug addicted people 65 years or older, Medicare is an option to pay for some if not all of their drug treatment. Medicare insurance will pay for the treatment of alcoholism and drug abuse in both outpatient and inpatient settings, as long as certain requirements are met. The addict must obtain treatment from a Medicare-participating facility or provider. The patient's doctor recommends that the services requested are medically necessary and that the patient's doctor provides a specific recommended treatment plan. Additionally, Medicare will only cover a total of 190 days in a psychiatric hospital for the individual's entire lifetime.
