Facts

  • Barbiturates are prescribed as anticonvulsants, sedatives, and general anesthetics but can also induce euphoria, elation, and uninhibited behavior which make them candidates for abuse. If individuals suddenly cease using the barbiturates, symptoms of withdrawal syndrome appear 12-20 hours after the last dose.
  • Over 60% of adult men who report consuming alcohol in the last 30 days are more likely to binge drink than women (47%) during the same time period.
  • Intravenous Lortab users expose themselves to risks such as contracting HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), hepatitis B and C, and other blood-borne viruses.
  • Long term and excessive alcohol consumption causes liver cirrhosis (damage to liver cells); pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas); various cancers, including liver, mouth, throat, larynx (the voice box), and esophagus; high blood pressure; and psychological disorders.

Crouse - Residential Short-Term Rehab (30 Days or Less)

A residential short-term treatment (30 days or less) program supplies care 24 hours a day 7 days a week for an average of 30 days (or less) depending on the treatment center. The individuals stay at the rehab facility and are ensured an entirely alcohol and drug-free environment during their recovery process. While in treatment they address their complications with drug and/or alcohol addiction while finding out how to go about their life without turning to drugs to resolve their concerns. When the individual has completed their residential short-term treatment, they frequently continue their recovery process by going into outpatient treatment, attending meetings, therapy or counseling. Heavily addicted persons who have a long history of substance abuse will benefit from living at a sober living home after they finish treatment. This will help them solidify their new found sobriety and give them strength and support.
