Drug treatment is sometimes a part of a criminal justice clients sentence for the crime they have committed. In order to provide these clients the rehabilitation they need, there are a few steps that should be followed before they can enroll into a drug or alcohol rehabilitation center. First, they need to determine if they are eligible for drug treatment while involved in the Dearborn Heights, Michigan criminal justice system. Their case is evaluated by a panel who makes the decision if they are in need of treatment and if so how much and what type is needed. Additionally, when the client is screened for substance abuse problems, the client is also evaluated for mental health issues as well. Severity of addiction, mental health problems, criminal activity, sentence length and previous substance abuse history are all determining factors in the creation of a criminal justice rehabilitation plan.
