Gideon - Detoxification

Men and women who are physically reliant to drugs or alcohol and want help will initially go through detox before receiving other treatment services in drug rehab. Detox is simply the procedure of the drug being removed from one's system, which is generally uncomfortable and may hold risks if not executed in a setting which can supply appropriate support and medical intervention as required. Detoxification services are supplied at either a professional drug or alcohol detox facility or a drug treatment facility which can correctly oversee and present medical supervision for men and women who are just coming off of drugs. Detoxification services generally include insuring the person is as comfortable as possible while detoxing and going through drug or alcohol withdrawal, providing proper nutrition and ensuring the person is receiving proper rest, and providing supplements and medicine as required to make the detoxification process as smooth and safe as possible. The person in detox will sometimes be encouraged to take part in some form of physical activity such as walking, yoga, etc. At a drug detox facility or drug rehab facility which can offer detoxification services, the client will have detox staff at their disposal around the clock to make sure that any issues are resolved as quickly and safely as possible.
