The individuals live at the rehab facility and are ensured an entirely alcohol and drug-free environment for the duration of their recovery process. When the client has finished their residential short-term treatment, they typically continue their recovery process by heading into outpatient treatment, attending meetings, therapy or counseling. Intensely addicted people who have a long history of substance abuse will benefit from living at a sober living home after they finish rehab. This will help them solidify their new found sobriety and give them strength and support.
