Gays and Lesbians - Lacona

Gays and lesbians who are having problems with drug abuse have the choice of attending a drug rehab program that is specifically designed for gays or lesbians. Deciding to enroll into one of these programs is a great first step towards recovery. While in treatment recovering addicts not only address their issues with drugs and/or alcohol but also work on other emotional and personal issues they are struggling with. Gays and Lesbians in treatment examine how their destructive behavior was a result of inner feelings left unresolved. Counseling and/or therapy aids in resolving issues with isolation, shame, discomfort in one's own skin, feelings of rejection, etc. Once rehabilitation is complete they will be able to feel stronger about who they are and know that drugs and alcohol is not the solution.
