While both parts of TriCare (TriCare Standard and TriCare Extra) cover drug rehabilitation, only some VA benefits cover the expense of substance abuse treatment. Once you have spoken with your military insurance representative (e.g., VA, TRICARE) and fully understand what they will cover regarding substance abuse treatment you can begin researching drug rehabilitation centers. Be sure to speak to the billing department of the drug rehab to ensure that they accept your military insurance (e.g., VA, TRICARE).
