Facts

  • Short-term residential drug rehab was first designed to address alcohol problems, and then transitioned into a multi-faceted program during the cocaine epidemic in the mid-1980s, at which point many began to treat other types of addiction.
  • No single drug rehab solution is appropriate for every person.
  • The high level of alcohol consumption is many times greater than the level of illegal drug use, making it one of America's most serious drug problems.
  • The Drug Abuse Warning Network lists opiates among the four most frequently mentioned drugs reported in drug-related death cases.

Parker - Hospital Inpatient

Any person who is heavily addicted to drugs or alcohol will benefit greatly by attending a hospital inpatient program. These types of programs are focused towards physical health, mental health and medical stabilization. Recovering persons will have access to medication as well as medical staff around the clock. While not every drug addict requires this level of care, it is beneficial to those who have severe physical addiction problems to drugs or alcohol. Hospital inpatient programs commonly last several days to even up to a month. Once the inpatient portion of their recovery is finished they may choose to participate at a sober living facility or transfer into an outpatient program.
