Detoxification - Rising Star

Men and women who are physically dependent to drugs or alcohol and want assistance will initially go through detox before receiving other treatment services in drug rehab. Detoxification is basically the procedure of the drug being eliminated from one's system, which is generally uncomfortable and may carry risks if not performed in a setting which can supply appropriate support and medical intervention as needed. Detox services are offered at either a professional drug or alcohol detox facility or a drug rehab facility which can correctly oversee and present medical supervision for people who are just coming off of drugs. Detox services often include insuring the client is as relaxed as possible while detoxing and going through drug or alcohol withdrawal, delivering proper nutrition and ensuring the individual is receiving proper rest, and providing supplements and medicine as required to make the detox process as easy and safe as possible. The person in detoxification will sometimes be encouraged to take part in some form of physical activity such as walking, yoga, etc. At a drug detoxification facility or drug rehabilitation facility which can offer detox services, the individual will have detoxification staff at their disposal around the clock to assure that any issues are resolved as rapidly and safely as possible.
