Facts

  • Some individuals who use crack cocaine die after taking a very small amount because of an increased sensitization.
  • Research indicates that "huffing" may cause low birth weights, skeletal abnormalities in newborns and delayed neurological development.
  • PCP use may alter mood states in an unpredictable fashion, causing some individuals to become detached, and others to become animated.
  • The behavior of alcohol abusers and the consequences of that behavior are better indicators of alcoholism than how often or how much alcohol a person consumes alcohol.

Residential Short-Term Treatment (30 Days or Less) - Wilton

A residential short-term treatment (30 days or less) program offers care 24 hours a day 7 days a week for an average of 30 days (or less) depending on the treatment center. The individuals stay at the rehab facility and are ensured a fully alcohol and drug-free environment through their recovery process. While in treatment they address their problems with drug and/or alcohol addiction while studying how to go about their life without turning to substances to remedy their concerns. When the client has completed their residential short-term treatment, they typically continue their recovery process by heading into outpatient treatment, attending meetings, therapy or counseling. Greatly addicted individuals who have a long history of substance abuse will benefit from residing at a sober living home after they complete treatment. This will help them solidify their new found sobriety and give them strength and support.
