Brazos Bend - Gays and Lesbians

Gays and lesbians who are having problems with drug addiction have the option of attending a drug treatment program that is specifically designed for gays or lesbians. Choosing to enroll into one of these programs is a very good first step towards recovery. While in treatment recovering addicts not only deal with their problems with drugs and/or alcohol but also address other emotional and personal issues they are having difficulties with. Gays and Lesbians in treatment take a closer look at how their destructive behavior was a result of inner feelings left unresolved. Counseling and/or therapy aids in resolving issues with isolation, shame, discomfort in one's own skin, feelings of rejection, etc. Once treatment is complete they will be able to feel more secure about who they are and know that drugs and alcohol is not the solution.
