The National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services reports that almost 1,427,000 kids under the age of 18 live with a drug addicted mother in a single-parent household. With so many mothers in need of treatment, obtaining programs that provide residential beds for individuals children is important. Programs that support the children of addicts are an expanding area of drug rehabilitation programs. Admitting that you have a drug addiction problem and will need help is not a simple thing. Single mothers in this position are generally afraid that by admitting they need drug addiction treatment; they will lose custody of their kids. Drug rehabilitation programs supplying residential beds for individuals children are an excellent way of assisting the drug addicted mother while permitting her to continue to parent her children.
