Eagle River - Detoxification

Men and women who are physically reliant to drugs or alcohol and want help will 1st go through detoxification before receiving other treatment services in drug rehab. Detoxification is basically the process of the drug being eliminated from one's system, which is generally uncomfortable and may hold risks if not conducted in a setting which can provide appropriate support and medical intervention as needed. Detoxification services are supplied at either a professional drug or alcohol detoxification facility or a drug rehabilitation facility which can adequately oversee and present medical supervision for men and women who are just coming off of drugs. Detoxification services typically include insuring the client is as relaxed as possible while detoxing and going through drug or alcohol withdrawal, delivering proper nutrition and ensuring the individual is getting proper rest, and supplying supplements and medicine as needed to make the detoxification process as easy and safe as possible. The individual in detoxification will sometimes be encouraged to take part in some form of physical activity such as walking, yoga, etc. At a drug detox facility or drug rehab facility which can offer detoxification services, the individual will have detoxification staff at their disposal around the clock to make sure that any complications are resolved as rapidly and safely as possible.
