Gays and lesbians who develop problems with drugs and alcohol have the choice of going to a drug treatment program that is specifically designed for gays or lesbians. Making the decision to enroll into one of these programs is an excellent first step towards recovery. While in treatment recovering addicts not only deal with their issues with drugs and/or alcohol but also work on other emotional and personal problems they are struggling with. Gays and Lesbians in treatment take a closer look at how their destructive behavior was a result of inner feelings left unresolved.
