For those who want to use military insurance (e.g., VA, TRICARE) you will need to contact your provider directly to see exactly what you are eligible for. While both parts of TriCare (TriCare Standard and TriCare Extra) cover drug treatment, only some VA benefits cover the expense of substance abuse rehabilitation. Once you have spoken with your military insurance representative (e.g., VA, TRICARE) and have a full understanding of what they will cover regarding addiction treatment you can begin researching drug rehab centers. Be sure to speak to the billing department to make sure that they accept your military insurance (e.g., VA, TRICARE). You will want to have a full understanding of what your part (if any) of the cost of treatment will be before you enroll into the treatment program.
