Facts

  • The rate of past month marijuana use in the United States among individuals aged 12 or older rose from 6.1% in 2008 to 6.6% in 2009.
  • Thousands of people choke on their own vomit each year while alcohol intoxicated.
  • The same exact dose of Methadone could be ineffective for one person, but could also cause a deadly overdose for someone else who isn't tolerant to that dose.
  • The acetaminophen component in Lortab can on its own cause a fatal overdose. High doses of acetaminophen can cause liver damage, and dosages should never exceed 4000 mg a day. Acetaminophen is metabolized solely by the liver, so there is a risk of fatal overdose due to hepatotoxicity when Lortab is mixed with alcohol.

Feasterville Trevose - Medicare

Substance abuse and addiction affects every age, race and gender. For substance abusers that are 65 years or older, Medicare is an option to pay for some if not all of their drug rehabilitation. Medicare insurance may cover the treatment of drug addiction or alcoholism in both outpatient and inpatient settings, as long as a few key points are addressed. The addict must obtain services from a Medicare-participating facility or provider. The drug addicted person's doctor notes that the drug or alcohol treatment is medically necessary and that the patient's doctor creates the plan of treatment to be carried out. Also, Medicare will only cover a maximum of 190 days in a mental health hospital for the individual's entire lifetime.
