Individuals who are physically dependent to drugs or alcohol and want help will initially go through detox before receiving other treatment services in drug rehab. Detoxification services are supplied at either a professional drug or alcohol detox facility or a drug treatment facility which can correctly oversee and present medical supervision for persons who are just coming off of drugs. Detox services typically include insuring the person is as relaxed as possible while detoxing and going through drug or alcohol withdrawal, offering proper nutrition and ensuring the person is receiving proper rest, and supplying supplements and medicine as needed to make the detox process as easy and safe as possible. The individual in detox will sometimes be encouraged to take part in some sort of physical activity such as walking, yoga, etc. At a drug detox facility or drug treatment facility which can provide detoxification services, the individual will have detox staff at their disposal around the clock to ensure that any difficulties are handled as swiftly and safely as possible.
