Drug or alcohol rehabilitation is sometimes a part of a criminal justice clients sentence for the crime they have committed. In order to provide these individuals the rehabilitation they need, there are a few specific steps that need to be followed before they can enroll into a drug or alcohol rehabilitation center. First, they need to determine if they are eligible for drug treatment during their time in the Independence, Kentucky criminal justice system. Their case is reviewed by a panel who decides if they are in need of treatment and if so how much and what type is needed. Additionally, when they are screened for substance abuse problems, the client is also evaluated for mental health issues as well.
