Detoxification - Kalamazoo

People who are physically dependent to drugs or alcohol and want assistance will initially go through detoxification before receiving other treatment services in drug rehab. Detoxification is basically the process of the drug being removed from one's system, which is generally uncomfortable and may carry risks if not carried out in a setting which can offer appropriate support and medical intervention as required. Detoxification services are offered at either a professional drug or alcohol detox facility or a drug rehab facility which can adequately oversee and supply medical supervision for men and women who are just coming off of drugs. Detox services generally include insuring the person is as comfortable as possible while detoxing and going through drug or alcohol withdrawal, providing proper nutrition and ensuring the individual is receiving proper rest, and providing supplements and medicine as required to make the detoxification process as easy and safe as possible. The person in detoxification will sometimes be encouraged to take part in some form of physical activity such as walking, yoga, etc. At a drug detoxification facility or drug treatment facility which can present detox services, the person will have detox staff at their disposal around the clock to assure that any complications are resolved as quickly and safely as possible.
