Drug or alcohol rehabilitation is sometimes a part of a criminal justice clients sentence for the crime they have committed. In order to get these clients the rehabilitation they need, there are a few specific steps that need to be followed before they can enroll into a drug or alcohol rehabilitation center. First, they need to find out if they are eligible for drug rehab while involved in the King, North Carolina criminal justice system. Their case is evaluated by a panel who determines if they are in need of treatment and if so how much and what type is necessary. Additionally, when the client is evaluated for substance abuse problems, the client is also screened for mental health problems as well. Severity of addiction, mental health problems, criminal activity, sentence length and previous treatment history are all determining factors in the creation of a criminal justice treatment plan.
