Facts

  • Medically assisted drug detoxification is only the first step of drug rehab, and in and of itself does not treat drug abuse by itself.
  • Studies indicate that a history of child abuse, poor grades and quitting school were all associated with "huffing".
  • Major League Baseball players are no longer allowed to use amphetamines as of 2006, a ban which is enforced through periodic drug-testing.
  • Surveys indicate that about 6 out of every 10 women of child-bearing age use alcohol, and slightly less than one-third of women who drink alcohol in this age group binge drink.

Lake Elmore - Hospital Inpatient

An individual who is severely addicted to drugs or alcohol will benefit greatly by attending a hospital inpatient rehab program. These types of programs are geared towards physical health, mental health and medical stabilization. Recovering persons will have access to medication as well as medical staff around the clock. While not every drug addict requires this level of care, it is beneficial to those who have serious physical addiction problems to drugs or alcohol. Hospital inpatient programs often last several days to several weeks. Once the inpatient portion of their treatment plan is finished they may choose to enter a sober living facility or transfer into an outpatient program.
