The clients reside at the rehab facility and are ensured a totally alcohol and drug-free environment for the duration of their recovery process. While in treatment they address their troubles with drug and/or alcohol addiction while studying how to go about their life without turning to drugs to solve their problems. When the person has completed their residential short-term treatment, they usually continue their recovery process by heading into outpatient treatment, attending meetings, therapy or counseling.
