Gays and lesbians who are having problems with drug addiction have the choice of attending a drug treatment program that is specifically designed for gays or lesbians. Making the decision to go to one of these programs is a very good first step towards recovery. During rehabilitation recovering addicts not only address their problems with drugs and/or alcohol but also work on other emotional and personal issues they are struggling with. Gays and Lesbians in treatment examine how their destructive behavior was a result of inner feelings left unresolved.
