Monticello - Gays and Lesbians

Gays and lesbians who are having problems with drugs and alcohol have the option of attending a drug rehab center that is specially intended for gays or lesbians. Choosing to attend one of these programs is a great first step towards recovery. While in treatment recovering addicts not only address their issues with drugs and/or alcohol but also address other emotional and personal issues they are struggling with. Gays and Lesbians in recovery take a closer look at how their destructive behavior was a result of inner feelings left unresolved. Counseling and/or therapy helps in resolving issues with shame, Isolation, feelings of rejection, discomfort in one's own skin, etc. Once rehabilitation is complete they will be able to feel more secure about who they are and know that drugs and alcohol is not the solution.
