The individuals live at the rehab facility and are ensured a totally alcohol and drug-free environment throughout their recovery process. While in treatment they address their troubles with drug and/or alcohol addiction while studying how to go about their life without turning to drugs and alcohol to remedy their concerns. When the person has completed their residential short-term treatment, they typically continue their recovery process by going into outpatient treatment, attending meetings, therapy or counseling.
