Schertz - DUI/DWI Offenders

Drinking and driving, or driving while under the influence are serious offenses not to be taken lightly. While each state has its own way of dealing with DUI/DWI offenders, there are some generalities that can be expected. Depending on the severity of the driver's intoxication and how strict the state laws are, they may have to serve time in jail for their offense. Once this is completed they will likely have additional retribution to do in order to drive a vehicle again. Many states require the person to undergo counseling and/or therapy to aid in their recovery process. Usually these counseling sessions are held in a group setting by either an addiction recovery professional or a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. The state will define a set number of therapy hours that the DUI/DWI offender will need to attend.
