Drug or alcohol rehabilitation is sometimes a part of a criminal justice clients sentence for the crime they have committed. In order to provide these clients the rehabilitation they need, there are some steps that should be followed before they can enroll into a drug or alcohol rehab facility. First, they need to find out if they are eligible for drug rehab while involved in the State University, Arkansas criminal justice system. Their case is reviewed by a panel who decides if they are in need of rehabilitation and if so how much and what type is needed. Furthermore, when the client is screened for drug addiction problems, the client is also screened for mental health issues as well. Severity of addiction, mental health issues, criminal activity, sentence length and previous treatment history are all determining factors in the creation of a criminal justice rehabilitation plan.
