Drug or alcohol treatment is sometimes a part of a criminal justice clients court sentence. In order to get these individuals the treatment they need, there are a few steps that need to be followed before they can enroll into a drug or alcohol rehabilitation program. First, they need to determine if they are eligible for drug treatment during their time in the Stennis Space Center, Mississippi criminal justice system. Their case is evaluated by a panel who determines if they are in need of treatment and if so how much and what type is required. Furthermore, when the client is evaluated for substance abuse problems, the client is also evaluated for mental health problems as well. Severity of addiction, mental health issues, criminal activity, sentence length and previous treatment history are all determining factors in the creation of the treatment plan.
