Drug or alcohol treatment is sometimes a part of a criminal justice clients sentence for the crime they have committed. In order to get these clients the rehabilitation they need, there are some specific steps that need to be followed before they can enroll into a drug or alcohol rehab facility. First, they need to determine if they are eligible for drug rehab during their time in the Stratford, Wisconsin criminal justice system. Their case is evaluated by a panel who determines if they are in need of rehabilitation and if so how much and what type is needed. Furthermore, when the client is screened for substance abuse problems, the client is also evaluated for mental health issues as well. Severity of addiction, mental health problems, criminal activity, sentence length and previous treatment history are all determining factors in the creation of a criminal justice rehabilitation plan.
