Gays and lesbians who develop problems with drug abuse have the option of attending a drug treatment center that is specifically intended for gays or lesbians. Deciding to enroll into one of these programs is an excellent first step towards recovery. During rehabilitation recovering addicts not only address their problems with drugs and/or alcohol but also address other emotional and personal problems they are struggling with. Gays and Lesbians in recovery examine how their destructive behavior was a result of inner feelings left unresolved.
