The clients live at the rehab facility and are ensured a totally alcohol and drug-free environment through their recovery process. While in treatment they tackle their complications with drug and/or alcohol addiction while mastering how to go about their life without turning to substances to solve their difficulties. When the person has completed their residential short-term treatment, they often continue their recovery process by going into outpatient treatment, attending meetings, therapy or counseling.
