Gays and Lesbians - Winn

Gays and lesbians who are having problems with drug abuse have the option of going to a drug rehab program that is specifically intended for them. Making the decision to attend one of these programs is a great first step towards recovery. While in treatment recovering addicts not only address their issues with drugs and/or alcohol but also work on other emotional and personal issues they are struggling with. Gays and Lesbians in treatment take a closer look at how their destructive behavior was a result of inner feelings left unresolved. Counseling and/or therapy helps in resolving issues with isolation, shame, feelings of rejection, discomfort in one's own skin, etc. Once rehabilitation is complete they will be able to feel stronger about who they are and know that drugs and alcohol is not the solution.
