Drug treatment is sometimes a part of a criminal justice clients sentence for the crime they have committed. In order to provide these individuals the treatment they need, there are some specific steps that should be followed before they can enroll into a drug treatment program. First, they need to determine if they are eligible for drug rehab during their time in the Wyatt, Missouri criminal justice system. Their case is reviewed by a panel who determines if they are in need of treatment and if so how much and what type is needed. Additionally, when the client is screened for drug addiction problems, the client is also screened for mental health problems as well. Severity of addiction, mental health problems, criminal activity, sentence length and previous treatment history are all determining variables in the creation of a criminal justice treatment plan.
