Drug or alcohol treatment is sometimes a part of a criminal justice clients sentence for the crime they have committed. In order to provide these individuals the treatment they need, there are some steps that need to be followed before they can enroll into a drug or alcohol treatment facility. First, they need to find out if they are eligible for drug rehabilitation during their time in the Yetter, Iowa criminal justice system. Their case is reviewed by a panel who determines if they are in need of rehabilitation and if so how much and what type is required. Furthermore, when the client is screened for drug addiction problems, the client is also evaluated for mental health issues as well. Severity of addiction, mental health problems, criminal activity, sentence length and previous treatment history are all determining variables in the creation of the rehabilitation plan.
